In business and Internet Marketing, knowing how to write is a definite advantage. With smooth and easy to read content articles which are rich in informational value, you can easily credentialize yourself and build up a relationship with your readers and customers. Article marketing is without a doubt, a great way to do website promotion, and spread the word about your business and website. For myself, I developed a love for writing when I was a young kid. It's an enjoyable activity that just allows me to express my feelings and thoughts. I always feel an adrenaline rush when I see my article being published in print or online. In a way, I was influenced a lot by my elder brother, who is a really good writer! I remember vividly, that a long time back, we will sit down together and weave some nonsensical war time stories (my brother love reading war novels then). Those were really the days! My very first published article was actually a composition I did in class which was selected for my school's writers' magazine. It was a rather a proud moment for me then. I recalled that the story was something about policemen fighting with robbers! Haha! Typical kiddish story. But hey! Imagine! My very own composition being published in a magazine! At age 11 if my memory serves me right. So I'm not complaining here. That are just some early recollections on how I got started in writing. I don't think I'm the best writer in the world for sure, as I do make my fair share of silly grammatical mistakes and spelling errors. In fact I'm pretty sure you will be able to find quite a few in my blog (sometimes these errors just escape me or I'm just simply too lazy to proof read!). However I do wish somehow that my writings will have some form of impact on my readers. And hopefully it's of the good and positive kind! At times, writing can be a real chore to some and just plain time consuming to others. Here are a few tips and resources to make writing a little easier, less tedious and hopefully, more enjoyable. 1. Try to use the word "You" more often. In that way, the reader feels as if YOU are talking to him, and make him feel more involved. 2. Write the same way you usually talk to a friend or family member. Bring out the honest and sincere self in you, and reflect it in your writing. In doing so, the reader can more readily warm up to you and build up a personal connection and bond. 3. To speed up the writing process, try to go with the flow. How to go about it? A good way is to say out the words aloud, like you are really speaking to someone as you type. Follow your voice. You pause less when you are speaking naturally. We want to recreate that when it comes to writing, and speed up the process. 4. Just write/type away. Don't look back. Do the editing only when you have completed a draft. Often, we try to edit while typing at the same time. Doing it this way simply delays time. Leave all the editing at the end and concentrate on creating that first draft. You'll be surprised at how much time you will end up saving! Some people churn out articles faster by not looking at the screen while typing. You can try it if you want, though it doesn't really work for me. 5. Cut out all the short forms and Internet speak and use only proper English (e.g. Do not write 'u' as a short form for 'you' or 'wat' for 'what' etc). These are okay for online chatting when you want to save time, but when it comes to serious, prim and proper article writing, please please write in full standard English. Doing otherwise may give the reader an impression that you are not professional and credible enough. Can you imagine George Bush speaking and writing in broken English? No right? (though I suspect he does!) Some useful resources for the up and coming writers out there: A. Thesaurus tools - very useful for searching up meanings of terms and finding synonyms. How much? They are FREE! Thesaurus.com WordWeb Mobysaurus Thesaurus B. Article Speed Writing - Fantastic system designed to enable you to churn out quality and informative articles in no time, and that is inclusive of research time. C. Website Content Wizard - If you are looking at re-writing a piece of article into a totally new and unique one, this great program makes this task a snap. Caution: It takes time to train up this program, and teach it to write in your style. It's not some quick fix! However once this part is done, you can look forward to many new unique articles. D. Webgrammer.com - Loads of valuable information, resource and tips for writers. Check it out!
