Recover Lost Prospects With Re-marketing

Re-marketing

Let’s face it.

Most prospects will not buy from you the first time round.

If they leave your website…they could be gone for good!

That’s why it is important you follow up. You do this by getting them to sign up to your list, and you can communicate with them later.

Exit pops are also very useful for engaging the prospects just as they are leaving.

Today, I want to talk about another technique you can use. It’s called re-marketing!

What’s Re-marketing?

Re-marketing let’s you re-communicate with your visitor after they have left your website.

Perhaps you might have missed out on an important benefit which you have not highlighted earlier.

Re-marketing gives you that opportunity to address that.

Or maybe the prospect could have decided it isn’t the right time to buy the first time round.

Re-marketing enables you to re-iterate your benefits to create a more compelling sales message.

Why remarketing?

Simple. More effective and personalized follow ups = greater conversion & more profits.

Re-marketing Platforms

1. Google Adwords – Google Display advertising has a re-marketing feature where you can tag your pages according to your prospect’s reference.

You can then create an Adwords campaign to show these past visitors highly relevant ads while they are browsing the sites on Google Display network.

2. FetchBack – FetchBack works similarly to Google Adwords re-marketing’s platform.

You can deliver highly relevant ads to visitors who have left your website to build relationship and increase sales.

Powerful stuff. And will help increase your ROI.

As usual, let me know your thoughts.

The technique about which you are writing here – re-marketing – seems encouraging for me because it is hope to return some constant clients of my website which have left my website for rather long time without any reasons… Thanks for this technique posted here:)

Yes many people don’t buy first time around. This is one reason why list building is really important. If you capture the lead, you can go back to them again and again with the product.

Is it better to make excellent marketing at the first time, so remarketing won’t be necessary then? Or remarketing is necessary when some characteristics of the target audience change?

In my opinion this technique, re marketing is a kind of brand awareness – you make your product/brand more visible to the prospect!
@Betty – in my opinion every excellent marketing campaign needs a re marketing one, even if your sales are up to the sky! Why? Because always are some that left your website or the store without buying your product… and your ultimate goal is to make them come back and buy.

@Jenny,

Yes, you could say there’s an element of brand awareness
involved. Re-marketing is making it more visible (as you pointed out) to the prospect who has already seen it earlier.

But this time round, we present another message to sell to them again – and hopefully to get them to buy.

@Betty:

Even with excellent marketing, it’s impossible to get 100% of visitors to buy. Cos people don’t buy for varieties of reason (e.g. not the right time, no budget, don’t see the need yet etc).

Re-marketing is useful because you target back the past visitors, and it gives you a second chance to make the pitch.

I think, First impression is the last impression. So, we should try to convince the customer on first attempt. Because in the process of re-marketing, chance of success are very minimum.

I am familiar with that exit pop ups, but I doubt if re marketing would work , maybe somehow.Like what you said that some customers would think that it is not yet the right time to buy the product or avail the service..

@Celine:

Think about it this way. If you don’t use re-marketing,
they will be gone anyway.

Re-marketing helps you to recover these “lost”
sales through personalized follow ups.

Think about it. There’s nothing to lose and
everything to gain.

This a pretty neat idea to think about. For most it needs to be about establishing a strong line of communication and staying connected with potential clients. Great post!

If you do the math after they see you all over the internet at least 11 times it’s a great chance that they will buy. This is branding yourself… this is very important in marketing. Every company that is smart will do this.
