I first this a long time ago from Brian Tracy.

What’s everybody favourite radio station?

From a sales perspective, here it is – WIIFM – aka “What Is It In For Me?

Human nature is such that they think first about their personal benefits. They think about themselves first before others.

That’s why I always try my best to put other people’s benefits first if I want them to open themselves up to me.

They say that god gives us 2 ears and 1 mouth for a simple reason.

To listen more and talk less.

Listen to other people’s needs more…and talk less about yourself.

It’s counter-intuitive…but it will help you establish a better rapport with your prospect.

This should always be one of the guiding principles of any copywriter. If you talk too much about yourself and how great your product is, rather than what the product can do for the prospect, it won’t sell very well.

We should try to b a good seller but a talkative. The more we speak more we get the loss. The less we speak the fascinating words we can earn more.

I hate people that talk too much. I know a few and they make more noise than talk about something that is in my interest too. They are very painful. I like to listen other people, i like to know them to see how they think.

Listening to other people and focusing on their needs rather than talking about yourself is the clue to establish relationship with people. Give people something of value, and they will listen to you and eventually buy your products.

It is very true, that in order to build rapport with anyone just shut up your mouth and listen then rephrase back what they are saying> It always has worked wonders for me :)

Hi – yes communication is the key to a successful relationship and communication begins with listening. Relationships can be personal, business. Business includes the people you work with and with your prospects and customers.

I feel Radio stations are doing some fantastic jobs by broadcasting some ethical talks & versus which proves very beneficial for people. Also, there are certain amount of people who is very possessive in their talks & don’t want to change in their behavior. Firmness is crucial but not at the cost of important issues which can even ruin your life!! Agreed?

I don’t understand why people for unnecessary reasons want to show their extra knowledge. They just for no reasons want to peep into someone’s work place, act smart & destroy all the work. As much as I agree with the point of listening more and talking less, a good amount of the time people don’t know what they actually want. I think it is equally as important to be concise WHEN you are talking so that you can get your point across so that people understand what your product is or could be to them.

yeah, it is obvious thing that everybody thinks about personal benefits and that’s human nature and it is seen straight from the childhood. The WIIFM is always been one of my favorite stations.

Whenever you try to express something don’t express directly from your belly and tongue, first put that point to mind, think a bit and then go to express it..
