Taking Stock Of Your Life And Business

image If you are busy individual or a business owner, I want to ask you a very important question.

Are you currently being very engrossed in your work?

Such that all you can think of is your work….work…AND MORE WORK???

To such an extend that you are totally oblivious to what is happening around you?

If that is so…I want you to take a step back. Not later, not tomorrow…NOW!

That’s right. Take a step back. And give yourself a break.

It’s so easy for a lot of us to get sucked in to your work…and you forget the BIG PICTURE!

When you are heavily into your work, you are often more likely to come under more stress and take a very myopic view of the current situation.

Because your mind is so fixated on it.

Now…taking a step back allows you to:

- Regroup

- Recharge

- Refocus.

One of the best ways I found to help me on this, is to go out for a jog or meditate. It really helps to clear my mind. And I can think about how can I go about my task in a better way…in a faster way…or in a cheaper way.

Could I be taking the longer route previously?

How can I achieve more in lesser time? How can I maximize my productivity and return on investment?

You can start thinking in all these metrics while you take a step back.

When you are back into the grove…you will find yourself much more efficient and productive.

What do you think? As usual, I’m all ears.

All success,

Jag Foo

I agree that you need to take sometime to relax, but it is important not get “too relaxed”.

I myself I take walks to gather my thoughts, and just to “get away”.

@All:

Glad the article found some resonance with you folks.

Getting away is important to clear your mind and to refocus.

Speaking of this, I’m going for a jog now!

Cheers,

Meditation seems to be a good method since many people suggest this. But I never try this.
I myself live near the green fields. So spending time taking pure breaths help me feel better once stressed.

Doing something that is very different from work and especially if it involves being physically active has helped me a lot when I’ve been too engaged in my work.

You have to have balance in your life. Too much work, or anything else, will leave you feeling empty. Obviously, you need to work hard to take care of your financial health, but you shouldn’t neglect your physical, emotional, and spiritual health while doing so. Besides, burning yourself out won’t make you wealthy.

@Bloginsane:

Glad it got you inspired. Now the fact that you are inspired…inspire me! =)

@ Microbrews:

You sum it all up. It’s about balance. That’s the keyword – balance.

@ Jennifer:

Yea. Get your husband…and your family for that matter for the jog. Alone works good too. But I injured my foot recently. Damn!

@ Mikael:

Definitely works for me too!

Warmly,
Jag

you are right, the clue of a clear mind that is to say to make a good work is no stress and happiness. Sometimes work can provide you this happiness but concerning the stress, free time is the best!

What I like about jogging is that you’re forced to think about other things for a change. When after jogging for a while, your body begins to ache and you begin to labor to put one foot in front of another, you completely forget about work, and focus on the task at hand.

@Hugh:

Jogging has the very refreshing impact. For me, it keeps myself fit…my mind clear…and gets me in the mood to work after that.

@Aimee, Derl, Ajit:

You got it right. Having ample sleep is critical. Many people don’t realize that.

@Thomas, Olivia, Theshoponline:

Most definitely.

Cheers,
Jag

Take the advice of others while making a decision about something or the other. Then we will get an idea to think even about a situation either it is bad or good.
