Model Success

image Here’s the painful way to do things.

Do everything yourself…and make every mistakes yourself.

Here’s a better and more effective way to do things.

See what the bests are doing.

And model.

Your shortcut your way to what’s working. And you learn from other mistakes without all the pain and hassle.

They say success leaves clues. Just follow these clues.

Make sense?

Love to hear your thoughts.

This advice is so simple, yet so rarely followed. Why this kind of thing isn’t taught I’ll never know.

It makes perfect sense! I love some of the things you have to say!

In order to do all the things this wayy you need to be really clever person who is skillful enough to observe what other people are doing. I have one problem – I don’t see anything except my own nose and my own world:( Your advice pointed on my mistake, and that’s why I want to thank you!

Usually people say that 80% of small businesses fail within the first 5 years. So my question is, what business models have the highest rate of success over 5 years? Is it running a Gas Station? Pizza Store? Office Supply Company? What is the business that is likely to succeed?

All over our lives, bits and pieces of the success model kit comes to us from a variety of sources. We take some from here, and a little from there, and assemble it into our picture of what success means. Many people only work with pre-defined models. These models are given to them by their parents, teachers, friends and mentors – or marketers, Hollywood, and the media.

I think the best attitude is to break out of the comfort and start making out in your own.

Leah Franz

It’s our life & building our own model of success. (doesn’t sound great!)

I’m somewhere between painful and model. I like to learn as much as possible from others and then to try it my way. Even if this means making mistakes, every mistake is a lesson.

@Sally:

Don’t thank me. Thank yourself for choosing to model the right people. Success will come! =)

@Celine:
Ahhhh…now you know. No unwanted pregnancy!

@Dylan:
So you like pain? Mistakes are unavoidable. Pain too
actually. But less pain is better.

Very wise advice. Although it’s ideal to follow other peoples templates sometimes there is hidden information that you didn’t know, or had to simply fail on your own to get the entire picture, but if you can leverage other results it’s the way to go.

The reason why people want to do it themselves is because they don’t want the hassle of dealing with training people and correcting them. If you create a training system it will take time but it will benefit you in the long run. The investment will come back to you and pay for itself.

This is one of my weaknesses. I’m such a perfectionist that I don’t delegate. I want to do tasks myself, so if I fail, I have nothing and no one to blame. If you want it done your way, do it yourself. Having a model is very helpful for people like me. Great post. Just my thoughts.
