Pay Per Click Marketing, Tracking

If You Are Not Tracking – You Are Not In The Game…

A smart marketer makes data driven decisions. Not so much of decisions based on others people’s opinion or what he hears.

But one based on cold hard statistics gathered from his prospects and customers’ actions.

For example, if you are a pay per click marketer, you will want to know which of your keywords, ads and landing pages converts the best.

This is vital because you don’t want to be shooting in the dark. Because that can mean 2 things – you take longer to get profitable…and you spend a lot more advertising that you should be.

Or because you don’t know what is working.

Fortunately, there are a lot of good tracking softwares out there.

And among the best…and a free one at that is prosper202.

It’s powerful. It gives in depth statistics. And it’s free. Can’t ask for more.

I use it for my PPC campaign myself. Excellent software.

It does what I just described and a lot more…

Here are some screenshots:

A good friend, I recently got to know, in the Warrior Forum, Derek Krein, has came out with a mini training course on tracking with Prosper202.

And not only that, it also covers on how you can use Prosper 202 to track other web links, banner ads, site placement ads and articles.

Solid stuff.

Here’s the link to Derek’s training course:

=> http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-special-offers-forum/39485-alert-dont-throw-money-away-track-sales-conversions-like-pro-9-95-a.html

Check it out.

Meanwhile, let me know what you think?

Do you track? If you are a PPC marketer, what do you track with?

All success,

Jag Foo

It is essential that you keep track of your users in order to gain more users and market to potential users.

I use Google Analytics for now but am looking into more ways of tracking; I don’t really like Analytics that much. Have any other suggestions?

In real estate, we all know the 3 main keys:
1. Location 2. Location 3. Location.
In marketing, the 3 keys are not as well known:
1. Testing 2. Testing 3. Testing.

The hard part is figuring out accurate and effective ways to test and measure. Just keep tweaking – remember, the difference between a successful campaign from a loser is sometimes only a small percent.

I use Google Analytics for tracking down my traffic. By this we can calculate the amount of traffic in a demographic view, so that we can put our efforts to generate more traffic from a particular region.

I not the best at data collecting and tracking, I’m the first to admit. I will check out Prosper. If it’s free, it’s not as if I’m losing an investment in software I can’t figure out how to use (which I’ve done plenty of times in the past).

@All Beer Blog:

Hmm..for pure web analytics…Google Analytics does its job pretty well. Very good in fact. I use that.

You got other free stats like Cystats or Stats Counter. But in my view, I still think Google Analytics is better as far as web analytics is concerned.

But of course, if it comes to tracking PPC links…P202 is great…and it is build specifically for that. And if you are an affiliate marketer, P202 is for you.

@ Lead Bonanza:

Think you hit nail on the head. Test. Test. Test.
Very true about not much separating the winners and losers. Sometimes a font or a picture can make all the difference.

But thinking back, I use to hate tests in school!

@ Prosper202 is free. I highly encouraged you to take a look. Especially so if you do PPC.

Google Analytics is helpful, but it doesn’t do all I need it to. When I’m getting a lot of hits from one site, I want to know where on the site and why. I also like to see live stats… that’s why I use statcounter as well.

I’m trying to get Google Analytics working with my Bebo page. It tells me to copy a code into my webpage but it doesn’t tell how I’m supposed to do that.

It says:
“Copy and paste the code segment into the bottom of your content, immediately before the tag of each page you are planning to track.”
