My Maiden Post
Okay so where should I start?
Alright, first off, there is something I must confess. In the past, I do not see the point of blogging. To me, it?s a load of unnecessary hassle. Not only do I have to constantly update, there are many personal details of my life I do not wish to reveal.
Hence I just seat around doing my thing, though not oblivious to the fact that the blogging phenomenon is getting bigger and bigger. Soon even businesses are getting into the act. It got to a point that I simply couldn?t ignore it. As the saying goes, if you can?t beat ?em, join ?em!
So here I am! Well, I guess better late than never!
Without further ado, here is a little low down on yours truly.
1. I?ve recently got out of school for good. Nope I?m not what you are thinking. I?m not a drop out (though there is nothing wrong with that depending on the reason behind it)! I just graduated from university, and getting my feet wet in the challenging and relentlessly competitive working world.
2. I?m into business, finance, and Internet Marketing. Totally unrelated to what I studied back in school (I come from a science background if you are wondering). So as you can guess already, most of my postings will be centered around those few themes.
3. I?m not intending to find a job, at least for the time being. Actually I even gave up my honors year just to graduate early. An unwise move, some say. However I have my reasons.
I could save myself 1 year worth of school fees (ain?t cheap!) and more importantly free up 1 year of time. It also makes sense to me to quit since I know I won?t be going into the chemical industry.
Hence I made up my mind early that this is the direction that I want to take, and I do really want to try my hand at business, specifically the online model.
I figure that if I don?t do it now, I will find it hard to do so in future, especially when I get a comfortable stable job with regular income, and liabilities start mounting up. A risk no doubt, but a calculated one which I am willing to take.
Now why an online business? It?s a model with many merits though not without the cons. Stay tuned to find out more as I chronicle my developments.
4. I love reading. All kinds of non-fiction, especially biographies, sports and business magazines (Fortune and Forbes are a must! Other notable good reads include Newsweek and Time) I have amassed a collection of investment, self improvement and finance books, of which many have left an impact on me. More on that in latter posts. Unfortunately time is at a premium now, and reading has to take a backseat.
5. While making money is real important, health is an area we must pay particular attention to. It?s important to keep fit and eat well for your physical and mental well-being. I play sports like soccer and badminton? What about ya?
There are much more to be said, but I think I will leave it as it is for now. I know the world out there is full of bustle and hustle. If you need an outlet to chill, do visit my humble blog more often. Cheers!
Second confession: This is actually my second blog. This first was a Blogger blog, but that was set up purely to get my Adsense code. Yes you don?t need a nice properly done website to apply for Adsense. A simple blog with a few entries will be suffice.
