Free Copywriting Tips Report For Giveaway

Recently I wrote a 2 part series on “The Characteristics And Hallmarks Of A TRULY Great Sales Copy”.

I have received some good reviews about it, and some of the readers have emailed me to make this available as a PDF report.

Well, being the nice generous guy that I am (*shamelessly* smile_shades), I listened, and decided to get it out in a PDF format for your viewing and reading pleasure.

I have edited the series and added in more tips. In addition, I also threw in a list of FREE resources that you will definitely find useful with regards to the topic of copywriting.

I spent quite some time on this report, and I will really appreciate if you can give me some feedbacks. Good or bad, just bring it! Everyone learns in the process!

Enjoy.

Here is the download .

Update

19 April 2007 – First of all, I’ve received some encouraging and constructive feedbacks via email, and I’ve to say I’m really thankful and appreciative.

I made several changes to the report and edited this posting a little (can you tell?).

As you can already observe, the title of this report is now changed to “27 Surefire Tactics Master Copywriters Employ To Produce A Compelling Sales Copy” from the previous “The Characteristics and Hallmarks of a TRULY great sales copy”.

This is done to produce a more attention grabbing headline, with the ’27 Surefire Tactics” bit giving it more specificity.

Done a few more cosmetic changes, and anyone who have seen the previous version might be able to spot the difference. Content-wise, it is still the same.

Copywriting is all about constant testing and tweaking. Little details count. Thanks for the feedbacks once again. Keep them coming.

That is an excellent idea! I liked the way you put the “hint approach” in your ebook. Giving a “hint” that the offer will “maybe” become invalid after a certain date. It’s a good way of letting people know that they should sign-up or purchase now instead of later, without making any promises. Really enjoyed reading your ebook! keep it up! ;)

Hey Jon,

Glad to hear from you. Your words carry a lot of weight for me. Thank you very much!

Yes I bought a fair number of ebooks precisely because of this darn tactic.

The tactic of inducing fear and anxiety in the would-be buyer that the offer will be possibly taken down in future, and that one will miss out. Everyone hates missing out on something, especially if it is a great value-added product.

Sometimes we just got to hand it to the best marketers out there – they love to play the minds of consumers.

Thanks once again mate!

Cheers,

I love this topic Jag. It seems to me that it is important that you help people out. I want to ask you what are you thoughts on writing quality content with sales copies that will not be considered spam by ISPs. What are some good tips and places to go to find information about how to write a quality sales copy that will not be considered spam.
Thanks!

Hi Cade,

I always believe that before you expect something, you will have to first give. Get the reader’s trust first. Gain some credibility, then it will be easier to sell something. People will be more receptive. Always important to establish win-win for all.

Good informative and value-added content are just about great when it comes to credentializing oneself.

With regards to spam, as long as you following the CAN-SPAM guidelines, you should be safe. Go with the respected autoresponder and email marketing provider such as Aweber and they will take care of such issues for you. There are regulations like opt-in and allowance for unsubscribing in place to help you guard against being labeled as spam.

Specifically about writing good copy, you can find the free resources on copywriting tips in the free PDF report I gave out. Loads of tips and tricks there on how to crank out a good high quality sales copy.

On a last note, do not over-hyped your own copy, and under-deliver in your sales copy’s promises as It will appear scam like, and does no good to one’s reputation.

Interesring and fun read there, Jag!

In the list of surefire phrases and words, I think you missed “New & Improved!” … :)

It has a mesmerizing effect…. EVERYONE WANTS to believe they’re getting a better deal than the last time …..

I know the trick, but it STILL has the same effect on me…. for example, I’d LOVE to see “New & Improved” on my Snickers bar!

Thanks for compiling and sharing the info.

Hi Zakman,

Thanks for your suggestion. “New and Improved” sounds great.

My list is not exhaustive for sure. I guess I’m bound to leave out many ‘power’ words and phrases.

Thanks for saying your piece! Adds to the value of this post for sure!

Cheers,
Jag

Hi Yong Sing,

I was about to write in about your title as well, until I saw the update. I agree, adding more specificity makes it more readable (as well as Diggable – which is always a good thing ;)
