7 Immutable Laws Of Affiliate Marketing Success

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Do also join our FREE membership where you will find tons of bonus marketing reports, cheatsheet and guides. Yep. 0 charge, 100% value. Join NOW!

Don’t get me wrong. Firstly, I must state I’m no guru. I don’t have tonnes of affiliate checks rushing into my inbox nor do I have a torrent of buying traffic beating down my server.

What I have for you are my experiences with affiliate marketing, and how I utilize them to positive effect.

The truth is I’ve been doing certain things wrongly previously. I’m still picking up new things everyday. If I knew the right stuff straight from the start, my results will no doubt have been better.

Well granted that affiliate marketing to me, is just a sideline, I thought I will just post what I’ve learnt so far for the benefit of the folks that come in here.

Alright…Without further ado, presenting you the 7 laws:

1. Focus

When you are promoting a particular product, you will get the best results when you focus on just that product alone. Not together with many other products.

Remember that if you give a reader too many choices, he will end up not making a choice! It is very true!

Being focused ensures that the readers that come in are targeted and it helps your site rank better in the search engine.

Set up a focused squeeze page or mini site with the product name keywords as part of the domain name. And ensure that everything is optimized with the product name keywords in it.

2. Solid High Value Product

You spend the same amount of time promoting a low value product and a high value one. So why not focusing your time on the latter and getting more out of your efforts?

It is a no brainer isn’t it?

3. Recurring Income and Two Tier

Likewise for this point. Promote the same product and get income coming in way after you have successfully converted a sale. Again and again.

For two tier, you earn when your downline makes a sale. All with no effort on your part. Great isn’t it?

The main thing here is about one crucial point - LEVERAGE!

Get more results out of a certain amount of effort. Play smart. And hard.

4. Provide Value

As with all things, readers don’t want to go to a site filled with junks and crap.

Provide something useful. And informative.

Offer a bonus. Give incentives.

They go a long way in helping you to convert a sale.

5. Building List

No matter what you do, build a list. Right from the start.

When they are in, it is yours. You can promote them another product later on. You can build relationship with them and sell to them again and again.

The money is in the list as all the gurus repeatedly say. *Yawn* Still, I have to say that is certainly 100% TRUE!

6. Invest In Adwords (Pay Per Click)

While I’ve not used Adwords before, I have gone through the mechanics of the system and have some knowledge of PPC strategies.

There is no doubt that PPC is effective and it works. Nothing can beat the ability of Adwords to bring in targeted visitors - almost instantly.

There is definitely a place for PPC. And it something I want to try in the very near future.

It is no coincidence that a lot of successful affiliate marketers are also also utilize PPC as part of their strategy.

7. Copywriting

Perhaps one of the most important laws, if not the most important.

Copywriting is about one thing. Using words to SELL!.

Master this skill and you can sell ice to even the Eskimos.

7. TAKING ACTION

So often, many people have failed. Not because they lacked knowledge but due to the lack of active and decisive action taking.

So if you are reading my blog now, I want you to close this window (but remember to come back again) and get your ass off to work!

Make some money!

Run. Don’t walk.

Go! Go! Go!

Get some serious affiliate marketing income right now!

    Hi Diana,

    Thanks for the kind words!

You found my blog via Google? On which keywords?

My blog is not very focused and I’m surprised I’m still able to rank in Google!

I will go do a search now.

    Thanks once again!

Sometimes however you might be better off with a low value product if there’s less competition for that niche.

    Hi John,

Yes you are right. Certain low value products can convert better and the volume of sales can also bring in good money.

With that said, there are also good solid high value products with little competition that are found outside the Internet Marketing niche.

    Thanks for sharing your view!

    Hi Vic,

If you are looking for affiliate marketing guide, you can try Ewen Chia’s Secret Affiliate Weapon.

    Quite solid product.

Ross Goldberg recently came out with Affiliate 2.0 - gone through it, and I think it deserves a worthy mention.

    Hi Ruri,

Yep, you are right. PPC and PPS works differently, and requires different approaches.

For me, I’m not into PPC, simply because the payout is not worth the effort.

And a lot of Adsense sites are really junk-like that offers no value to visitors.

    Cheers,
    Jag

Thanks, These are some great tips. I have noticed that in my experiences in affiliate marketing. Especially bummarketing, it is extremely important to build lists. For every one out there make sure that you don’t skip this step, it allows you to make money every time you come up with a new product to promote.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
