Totally agree with you invest what you can afford to lose. If you’re going to invest somewhere like penny stocks or in your own business then also save some extra money in your emergency account. It’s because if your fail to earn money from penny stock or form your own business then you have no money left behind to support your business or pass your life happily.

I know they say invest what you can afford to loose. I just invest what i have extra. I do not want to loose it but will be ok if i do. If you borrow money to play the stock market it is a big risk.

I think he would have been better off just buying some etfs or funds that invest in bonds and dividend paying stocks. This way even if the shares go down he has income coming in and will do well over time. Sounds like he did leveraging and options to risk that much and loose that fast.
