Get Targeted Ads On The Cheap

image

If you notice, there is increasing competition in advertising. More and more companies are getting in on the online space.

Just take a look at Google Adwords. A keyword like “window cleaning company” can cost an average of $4.44 per click!

You better have a good ad that can give you a high click through rate (CTR) as well as a solid landing page/sales pitch to have any kind of ROI.

Thankfully…there is an alternative traffic that you can get such clicks at almost half the cost…sometimes less…and still retain the quality of the traffic.

The answer – content network. Specifically the placement targeting.

If you don’t know yet, Google has a HUGE network of sites that carry their contextual ads. These sites will show ads that are relevant to the pages’ content.

It’s amazing that most people are focused on the search network and are completely forgoing the content network. And the content network can be a source of huge volume of traffic.

Now for advertisers who are using content network, most are targeting via keywords.

But keyword targeting can be pretty untargeted considering that the default matching is set to “broad”.

Placement targeting is different. You can actually choose which sites you want your ad to appear on. That means you can choose the highest traffic sites…the sites with the most backlinks…the most relevant sites to place your ad. This is an incredibly powerful ad platform for you.

Don’t forget – unlike the search network – you can also use image ads in addition to text ads. So that widens your targeting possibilities.

If any of you use content  network placement targeting, I like to hear your experiences on it.

To your success,

I utilize Google’s contextual ads and find it much more successful then their search option.

Being able to choose sites as you have outlined is great. As long as you have the knowledge to research those sites before placing your ads there. After all the site might be an exact match but the traffic may not be acceptable.

An average of 23% of my traffic is obtained through contextual ads. An average of 57% from organic search. The remainder from other sources. So as you can see it is well worth the investment.

If you want more traffic to your website or blog, craigslist is one of the best places to get free unlimited traffic to your site. Your’re not looking for traffic you’re looking for targeted traffic, and craigslist = quality targeted traffic.

@cfd trader:

Yes, more and more people are getting into contextual advertising. If you compare contextual (content network) vs search network – the former is generally still much cheaper.

This PPC campaign may become a bit expensive if you belong to a poor country and paying in your local currency and management of campaign is a bit difficult

Placement targeting is an AdWords feature that lets you choose specific sites in the content network to display your ads.

I applied content network and so far I’ve been getting some results. What’s good with this is the availability of further references on the niche that you are promoting your product or services. Also, the possibility of getting your lion’s share if a sale has been made through it’s advertisement on your blog or site.

Great sharing,as per personal i think PPC is great way to advertise your products,I don’t mind targeted ads. What I really hate is ads that play sounds/videos/pop up in your face.
