Taking Stock Of Your Life And Business

image If you are busy individual or a business owner, I want to ask you a very important question.

Are you currently being very engrossed in your work?

Such that all you can think of is your work….work…AND MORE WORK???

To such an extend that you are totally oblivious to what is happening around you?

If that is so…I want you to take a step back. Not later, not tomorrow…NOW!

That’s right. Take a step back. And give yourself a break.

It’s so easy for a lot of us to get sucked in to your work…and you forget the BIG PICTURE!

When you are heavily into your work, you are often more likely to come under more stress and take a very myopic view of the current situation.

Because your mind is so fixated on it.

Now…taking a step back allows you to:

- Regroup

- Recharge

- Refocus.

One of the best ways I found to help me on this, is to go out for a jog or meditate. It really helps to clear my mind. And I can think about how can I go about my task in a better way…in a faster way…or in a cheaper way.

Whatever your current habits are – sloppy or neat – you’ll get more done and have less stress while you work if your office is intelligently organized. All kinds of studies have proven this to be so.

Here are 12 things you can do to make your office work harder for you.

1. Provide yourself with a range of lighting, from subtle to very bright.

Powerful Marketing ToolKit From Marketing Experiments

I’ve always been an advocate of testing and experimenting in marketing.

Often we don’t know what works. Or we think we know what works…but actually don’t.

I’ve done plenty of split tastings before on sales pages, landing pages and email campaigns, and the results have sometimes differ from what I thought was correct.

From there, it just underlines further to me the importance of testings in marketing and conversions. It’s NOT about what we think. But what the buyers think!

Now…when it comes to testing and optimizing, very few can match up to the folks at Marketing Experiments.

I’m a big fan of their marketing content.

Just recently, they came out with a big list of marketing tools, chockfull of guides, PDFs reports and worksheets.

They are FREE and extremely useful. If you are a marketer or a student of marketing, download them.

I’ve put them together here for your easy reference and download.

35 Tips To A Wiser, Healthier, More Productive And Successful YOU In 2009

image First off, I want to wish you a very happy…successful…smooth-sailing…albeit a belated, 2009 ahead!

2008 was a year that was full of ups and downs. More downs actually.

There were the terrorist attack in Mumbai, earthquake in Shenzhen and devastating cyclone in Myanmar.

Financially wise, there was unprecedented bloodletting. The fall out from the sub prime crisis has seen titans like Bear Stearns, Merrill Lynch and Citibank taken a real body blow.

Damn! Even my favorite club, Newcastle United, has descended into a real farce. Just when I thought it cannot go worst…it just did!

Personally, 2008 has been a real learning experience for  me. Made some mistakes, but have also gained a lot. And learnt a lot.

At the present moment, everything seems gloomy. But as we embarked on a new journey in a new year, I urge everyone to keep your chin up and forge ahead with renewed determination and vigor.

Always remember one thing:

It’s Always Darkest Before Dawn!

When things get soooooo bad, the only way left now is…you guess it….UP!
