As my treasured reader, I want to provide content that is of good value to you. Just so that the trouble you took to drop by is worth it.

If you notice something, I mentioned the word “You” a total of 8 times already. That translates to 14.5% word density with the word ‘you’. A significant amount.

 

If you are feeling incredulous, don’t be. I just want to stress to you the importance of the word…..

 

“YOU”

 

Everybody loves talking about themselves. Or for people to talk to them and about them.

It’s always about “You, you, you”, rather than “me, me, me”.

Is there any wrong with this? Nope.

In fact, it is perfectly normal human behavior for people to think about their own self-interest first.

When you keep using the word “you”, you make the opposite party feel good. They feel involved. They feel as if you are talking to them. Very naturally, a connection is forged…

But what is fundamentally important for marketing is the sales copy. Cos those are the words that do nothing – but SELL.

 

 

We can have all the traffic in the world, but if no one buys anything when they come to your site, your hard effort will all come to naught.

Of course you can argue that without traffic, no one will ever want to see your damn copy in the first place.

While that is true, I still consider copywriting to be a more important skill. It will never go out of fashion 20 years down the road. Or 30,40 or 100 years or even centuries for that matter.

Because copywriting is basically advertising and persuasion in print! It is about touching and pushing the human mind. Pressing their hot buttons and appealing to their human emotions. And human nature never changes!

Does Color Makes A Difference To Your Website’s Profitability?

Yes. It’s true. 100% true.

How your website is presented and look can do a lot to determine if your visitors trust you and actually want to make a purchase from you.

Presentation wise, there is always an important aspect to consider – formatting.

Lots of white space, ample sub-headings, short sentences, bolding and bulleting go a long way in improving readability. This is covered in my previous formatting post.

Have you ever been to a site that gives you the bad vibes? It’s like the moment you enter the site and straight away you feel like leaving?

More often than not, it is usually a black color dominated site with white text. Think satanic sites.

Firstly, white text on black background is highly unreadable.

Secondly, black is associated with darkness, night, evil, witches and cats. Now you see the picture?

If you are selling something, and you are going to put the readers in an uncomfortable mode, do you think they are going to buy?

HELL NO!

A powerful yet very under-rated and perhaps also, less well-known marketing technique is petition marketing.

Petition involves a mass group of people coming together to champion a common cause.
